About

IMIGRA – Institute for the Study of Migration, Diaspora, and Exile is an independent research association based in France.

The institute aims to analyze contemporary migration dynamics through an interdisciplinary approach combining sociology, anthropology, history, and law. It focuses on labor migration, trajectories of exile, forms of integration, and the lived experiences of migrant populations in host societies.

Particular attention is given to older migrants, who are often underrepresented in public policies as well as in academic research. IMIGRA examines their life trajectories, social conditions, forms of participation, and the challenges related to aging in migration.

The institute’s activities include scientific research, publishing, the organization of conferences and meetings, and the dissemination of knowledge to the general public, researchers, and institutional stakeholders, in France and internationally.
